Commit to your 2025 goals & give your running a boost! “Run Foundations” A 4 week structured course through January 2025 Join a small group for fun, supportive running sessions in Hilly Fields. Distance & pace options to suit all running abilities How will it benefit me? - Technique coaching - Injury prevention strategies - Ideas for more effective ways of training What’s included? - 4 structured group run sessions, each including a warm up, cool down and stretches - Running technique coaching within each session - Varied run workouts to build your running fitness more effectively - Running strength exercises - Injury prevention focus - Dynamic warm up ideas - Session handouts so you can use the course content in your own running - Online nutrition workshop with sports nutritionist Rebecca from Eat Well Perform Better, an avid runner herself, who will be providing an introduction to nutrition to help you support your running and other activities. Who’s the coach? England Athletics running coach, Mary Brooking, will be leading the sessions. Mary has been a runner for many years participating in a variety of events from park runs to marathons and is keen to share her love of running, her understanding of its mental and physical benefits, and the importance of having a structure to your running to prevent injury as well as improving performance. Mary is also a Sports Massage therapist so brings a unique combination of skills to the running sessions she leads. Mary has been leading Hilly Fields Run Session since 2022 so knows the paths and grass of Hilly Fields very well. There’s plenty of scope for challenging run intervals, and also for shorter and flatter options. Who is this suitable for? Experienced and new runners. If you are a running beginner I recommend following a 0-5k or Couch to 5k plan as its structured approach is well designed. It builds running fitness gradually and also means that our joints, tendons and muscles have time to adapt to the demands of running, thereby reducing injury risk. Once you are running for 2-3 minutes 3 to 4 times within a run or 10-15minutes continuously then this course will help you take your running further. Don’t wait to get fitter or feel more ready to join - just come along, this is the perfect time! Experienced runner? Get ideas for different things you could include in your runs to inject variety and plus technique tips & injury prevention strategies you may not be using.

Hilly Fields Run Sessions Terms & Conditions ​ I understand that running is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not run unless medically fit to do so and have informed Mary Brooking of any injuries or health conditions I have. I understand that the weather can make conditions wet and slippy and that there is a danger of weather related injury. I assume all risks associated with participating in Hilly Fields Run Sessions included but not limited to trips, falls and contact with other participants or members of the public, the effects of the weather, ground and path conditions and traffic. I waive and release Mary Brooking from all claims and liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in these sessions. I hereby grant permission for emergency medical treatment or medication to be administered by Mary Brooking or other qualified medical first responders in the event of an emergency. During the run sessions photographs and videos may be taken and may be used for publicity and promoting future run sessions and/or sharing with participants in run sessions. I agree for photos and videos which include me to be taken and used in this way. Amendment or cancellation of participation in a session is possible up to 2 hours before a session is scheduled to start.
